The NGN is run by an elected County Committee, whose members meet with Norfolk County Council Children’s Services staff on a regular basis to discuss a wide range of topics.
The NGN's aim is to provide all school governors with help and support in meeting the challenges and responsibilities involved with being a governor. This is achieved by keeping governors up to date with current issues and by ensuring that their views are heard.
As well as being a member of the county committee, my role at NGN includes attending the ICT steering board meetings. -

Governing Matters

James Wright and Stuart Lee will reveal how simple it is for teachers to monitor pupils’ lesson by lesson attendance throughout the school day with SIMS. They will also explain how the school looks closely at the behaviour, achievement and pupil information it records and how this can help uncover any underlying attendance issues that might need to be addressed.Other authorsSee publication

Unsung Hero
e-Learning Foundation
"James works at Sprowston Community High School and is Chair of Governors at St. Nicholas Priory Junior School in Great Yarmouth.
James is typical of our unsung heroes, working tirelessly to ensure that all the families have the access they need at home to support their children's learning.
Being a Governor, he is not just unsung, he is also unpaid, and his success today is also a reminder to us to recognise the work of so many members of Governing bodies across the country…"James works at Sprowston Community High School and is Chair of Governors at St. Nicholas Priory Junior School in Great Yarmouth.

Being a Governor, he is not just unsung, he is also unpaid, and his success today is also a reminder to us to recognise the work of so many members of Governing bodies across the country, supporting their Headteachers and, in James' case, rolling up his sleeves and getting involved."
